Thanks for the war story.

Thanks also for the well wishes.vwdieselhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03455679732966255684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805851830963264865.post-11185531454946198852010-11-26T09:02:15.962-05:002010-11-26T09:02:15.962-05:00Bud forgot to mention that my 2002 Jetta 1.8T also...Bud forgot to mention that my 2002 Jetta 1.8T also went through several oxygen sensors (defective), lights (brake lights and front headlamps) and recalls. And there were numerous electrical problems. A few times when I turned on my wipers, my sunroof opened! The biggest problem was when my car would take itself out of gear and not be able to change gears or accelerate (it was an automatic). It would start bucking and all I could do was turn my car off and turn it back on. That would "fix" the problem for maybe 10 minutes. Annoying, but also very dangerous. I am amazed I never got rear ended or t-boned in an intersection. I bought my car 1 year old from a VW dealer. At first I took my car to several VW dearlerships for service. VW customer service was rude at best (when you finally got an appt). One time I brought it in for an oil change and a recall and I waited for 2.5 hours and they forgot to do the oil change! I left and went to Jiffy Lube. I will never own another VW again, nor would I recommend one.

Love my Acura, no problems and it is so much more comfortable and fun to drive! Along with great customer service (I always get a courtesy car if I need one. If I wait, there is free wifi, coffee, soda, donuts and they wash and vacuum my car.)

Good luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805851830963264865.post-62618406789474218552010-11-25T22:52:44.582-05:002010-11-25T22:52:44.582-05:00Joe,

The Check Engine light was on constantly and no mechanic or VW Dealer could figure out why so they would shut it off and a few days later it would come back one. Also if she was going downhill the car would actually go out of gear and start bucking. THe only way to stop it from happening was to shut the ignition off and "reboot" the car. I kid you not.

Finally in 2009 we took it to Acura got 2500$ trade in and bought an RDX. Couldn't be happier!

BudUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11568820074035926669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805851830963264865.post-12322425883025110862010-11-25T09:07:23.214-05:002010-11-25T09:07:23.214-05:00Hmmm - That wasn't really my car, it was the f...Hmmm - That wasn't really my car, it was the first car that I purchased for Mo while we were still dating. I think that it was purchased while I still owned the Toyota Camry. The car I had at the time was a wreck because everytime I repaired the damage to it - it would get into an accident, AGAIN. Byron running it into the back of the Rabbit, the quarter panel damage due to an accident you got in while borrowing it, the asshole that threw a rock off a bridge. Eventually that car was towed out of the parking log @ the Radnor House Condo building because I let the Inspection and Registration lapse. None too soon in my book. 8-)vwdieselhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03455679732966255684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805851830963264865.post-80187460680919889172010-11-24T22:26:21.675-05:002010-11-24T22:26:21.675-05:00Your first VW wasn't that Passat, it was the 8...Your first VW wasn't that Passat, it was the 85 Diesel Rabbit!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14913164791301613598noreply@blogger.com
